You’ve interned at the local station for a while, and they offer you an entry-level position as a receptionist. Do you take it or decline because you’re waiting for the job you want? You take it! Any entry-level position is a foot in the door and can lead to the career of your dreams. Remember, no one starts at the top of the ladder.
Do your own research on industry events, conferences and local hang outs. Attend the ones you can and try to make connections within the industry every chance you get to build your network of contacts. If your competition has the same experience you do, who you know can really make the difference in landing the job you want.
5. Get to learning
There are some instances where a more formal education is not necessary for a particular job, but in many cases, it can be the deciding factor.
